Laurent and Dan have been best friends for over 15 years, first meeting at basketball tryouts in 2009.
Meet Laurent. Born in Montreal and shaped by a childhood spent across Europe, Laurent brings a global perspective to entrepreneurship. He earned a double major in neuroscience and psychology at Union College while competing on the Men's NCAA basketball, before completing his MBA at Michigan Ross in 2022. Laurent’s career began at PwC Consulting in Montreal and Calgary, followed by a role at West Monroe Partners, where he specialized in M&A due diligence. Post-MBA, he refined his expertise in financial strategy and deal execution at J.P. Morgan’s Power & Renewables Investment Banking group. Now, as co-founder of Grey Wind Capital, Laurent leverages his deep analytical skills and deal-making experience to acquire and grow businesses. Outside of work, he is an avid skier and tennis enthusiast, applying the same discipline and focus from sports to his professional pursuits.
Now meet Dan. Born and raised in Weston, Connecticut, Dan's entrepreneurial journey began at Columbia University, where he co-founded one of the first escape game companies in the U.S., later sold to private equity in 2023. After graduating summa cum laude, he pursued data science research at the University of Oxford, earning high honors for his work on agricultural data analytics while consulting multinational firms and government bodies on related policy. Dan later obtained his JD from UC Berkeley before clerking for Delaware’s Court of Chancery and practicing at Skadden Arps and Wilson Sonsini. Now, as co-founder of Grey Wind Capital, Dan leverages his diverse expertise to acquire and grow exceptional businesses. Outside of work, he enjoys basketball, chess, and time with family and friends.
